Perfect shoe for runners with need for "motion control", September 5, 2010 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Pearl iZUMi Men's Syncroguide III Motion Control Shoe (Apparel) It is easy to determine if you have normal pronation or if you underpronate/overpronate. Placing a wet foot on a dry paper bag is how I did it. Do your research and then select your shoe. My arch exists but collapses under my weight so while I may be called "flat footed", it would be technically more correct to say that I overpronate. Pearl Izumi makes excellent running shoes and they clearly catergorize their shoe line to different types of pronation. Previous to Pearl Izumi I successfully used nikeys but switched for the first time to Pearl Izumi. I usually run a couple of miles a day with my dog; I am not a serious runner but I want a shoe that will minimize my risk to possible injury. Also, I am kind of a product snob so I want the best. I am very happy with this brand. Most likely, I will stick with it forever.
Update: The left shoe squeaks when I run on most surfaces. I tried petroleum jelly, corn starch and a wd-40 type product in individual tests and cannot... Read more
Great Shoe but ONE CAVEAT - Order the correct size., April 7, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Pearl iZUMi Men's Syncroguide III Motion Control Shoe (Apparel) These running shoes can be very comfortable and they perform well when running. Most importantly they support and control my feet when in use. The quality and build of the shoe is good except in that One area of my caveat I mentioned earlier. They tend to run on the tight/sung size. Previous advice I read saying order an half size to a size up is very good. I ordered my normal size and decided keep them now being 6 months on of this review. If like me you will probably only be able to wear thin athletic socks with these runners rather than the thick padded running socks, if you need that order an size up or look elsewhere. Another alternative that I found works well is to wear thin men dress socks, I get a very comfortable fit with those afterwards.
